The Coastal Wetlands Ecosystem is found on Wiisaakodewan-minis (Stockton Island) meaning "point of land" in Ojibwemowin. It refers to the island's tombolo that juts out into Lake Superior.
The Coastal Wetlands Ecosystem is also found at Little Sand Bay on the Apostle Island's mainland.
